Termorace Integral tyre warmers

Termorace tyre warmers
November 12, 2008 - Kenny Pryde

These Italian-made tyre warmers are used by Kawasaki, Scot JIR and Alice Ducati in MotoGP and, as you would expect, they are rather flash, with features that boggle the mind. There's a pressure sensor which fits over the valve, you set the pressure and temperature you want to run, programme it and the Termorace gizmo will automatically monitor your tyres, releasing air if your pre-programmed pressure is exceeded.

The heating elements are arranged to ensure that the tyre shoulder and edges are given more heat than the centre, the outer material is damn-near flame proof, the heat elements themselves are carbon and silicon-based, so will bend and flex rather than unravel, tear or snap. I can't even bring myself to tell you how much they cost. But if you want them...

However, for those of more modest means, there are also Termorace warmers which have the same heater element, but lack the expensive pressure sensor and programmable element. They cost £400 – again, not the cheapest on the market, but badly made, flimsy warmers that heat your tyres in a random, patchy fashion aren't a sound investment either, are they?

Check out www.termorace.com for the full propaganda broadside.

They are distributed in the UK by MotoComp on 08700 340 283.
